  2. Novel Reading Day — Points will be given during class.  You do not need to fill out a reading log.
  • Reading day points will really help your grade.  Don’t lose them by talking, sleeping, or working on other work.

1.  Journals 61 -70: You should have these completed as of today.

Journal 68: Flip a coin — Heads, write about last weekend.  Tails, write about this coming weekend.
Journal 69: Draw a hand turkey, color it, and give it a name.
Journal 70: “If I got a tattoo, it would be … because…”

  2. FYI: Edgar Wright directed/wrote Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Spaced, before adapting and directing Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
  3. I-Search — Be finished with research when we get back from break.

  1. STOP — GO TO YOUR LOCKER AND GET ANY COPIES OF HAMLET OR ANTHEM.

  1. Journal 67: Write a scene from the point of view of a character being left by another character.
  2. Character stories - ROUGH DRAFT DUE TODAY??? - If you are working, I will give you the weekend to finish it up.

  2. I-Search — RESEARCH TODAY!
    • DUE AFTER THANKSGIVING BREAK.
    • Make citations for your sources.  Don’t copy and paste from websites!
    • Final draft = 3 or more pages plus title page and works cited page.

AP LITERATURE

  1. NaNoWriMo — Final, typed, 12 pt Times font, saved in your H:/ drive by Tuesday 11/23 a.k.a. Pre-Thanksgiving Shakespeare Viewing Feast Day.
  2. Update your stickers!
  3. Semester Projects are coming up soon — This will be your semester exam grade (+ an essay on exam day).  If you are exempt, it will go on your 9 weeks grade.

  1. Journal 65: Write about someone who is pretending to be someone or something that he or she is not.  – change the names to protect the innocent.
  2. Using your character sheet and character arc sheets as brainstorming, begin a hand-written draft of a character-driven story.  The ultimate goal is over 400+ words.

THEMES

  1. DAILY = FAIL (Brought Wii but left games at home.)  – We only have three media/film days left!  – Tomorrow, we will look at zombie/horror genre.
  2. TODAYI-Search — Anyone on games will not be allowed to use the computer again for this project….

 

AP LITERATURE

  1. NaNoWriMo — The rough draft needs to be typed and in your H:/ drive BEFORE Thanksgiving Break. — Today is a work day.
  2. Shotgun Rules — Quiz Friday.

  1. I-Search WorkdayDON’T shut the lid on the computer until it shuts down completely.
  2. Period 2 — your “Best of 1st Nine Weeks” stories are graded and in the out box.  IF SKIPPED DOING THIS, YOUR GRADE IS IN TROUBLE.
  3. Period 5 — I should have yours graded by tomorrow.

AP LITERATURE

  1. Peer-editing exercise of joy.
    • Circle any grammar mistake you find.
    • Underline any sentence structure you find difficult to read.
    • Write “Peer-edited by ____” on the bottom of the first page.

  1. Journal 63: Use the following words in a new writing (3/4 to 1 page): sylph, rabble, fizzy, styptic, and freckled.
  2. Grammar book: 1-10 (pg 77), 1-5 (A, pg 80), and 1-5 (B, pg 80)
  3. Finish Character Arc Worksheet — Do not turn it in yet.

THEMES

  1. Journal 17: Name the most powerful character in what you are reading. What makes this character so powerful?
  2. NOVEL READING DAY – I am skipping having you fill out the reading log. I will enter points directly into the grade book for today.

AP LITERATURE

  1. NaNoWriMo — Writing to your goal — you need to have your section written before Thanksgiving Break.  (We will only have a few days of class time to continue working on it.)
  2. Semester projects:
    • Read two books
    • Watch a movie
    • Figure out a way to connect them together to make an interesting THEMED PROJECT.
    • Create the project.
    • Present the theme, books, movie and project to class.

  2. READING NOVELS AGAIN!!! Many of you did not get points for the last reading day!  These add up!
